Late Fall Issue of Journal of Epigenetics Available

The October/November/December 2006 issue of the journal Epigenetics is now available and contains four research papers covering topics related to breast cancer, autism, and prostate cancer.

Thanks for the info on MeCP2. Very interesting. I work in a clinical moleucalr diagnostic lab and sequence the MeCP2 gene looking for mutations in patients that are suspected of having Rett syndrome. It obviously has a very interesting role in epigenetics. I think we will be hearing a lot more about MeCP2 in the future.

I haven’t looked into MeCP2 much myself (yet), but this paper looked interesting.

Just thought you might be interested that right after I posted the above comment, we got a patient in whose clinical indication was autism, and sure enough she had a huge deletion one copy of her MECP2 gene.
